About Emerald Stitch Quilting
Hi, I'm Anthea — the maker and fabric fanatic behind Emerald Stitch Quilting.
It all started during the quiet days of COVID, when I had a break after finishing college and decided to make quilts for my two daughters, just like my mom made for me. I hadn’t expected it to spark a full-blown obsession with sewing, but here we are. One quilt turned into two, and before I knew it, I was drawn into the world of bag-making.
I’ve always had a soft spot for bold, fun purses that are as functional as they are expressive. I love big bags (especially ones that can carry my 40oz tumbler and all the mom-life essentials), but I couldn’t find anything on the market that matched my vibe. So I made my own.
My first handmade purse was white with splashes of rainbow paint and bright butterflies — and it turned heads. The compliments started rolling in. When a quilting friend invited me to sell bags at a craft fair, I knew it was time to turn this creative spark into a business. That’s how Emerald Stitch Quilting was born.
Every piece I create is handmade by me and one-of-a-kind, using bright, bold, out-of-the-box fabrics that catch your eye and celebrate individuality. I lean toward cool tones like blues and purples, but I’ll never pass up a fiery red or playful orange. My style is always centered on function and fun — with plenty of pockets for people who love to stay organized.
To me, bags are more than accessories. They’re a little piece of your personality. Sometimes, it’s hard to express who you are on the outside. Maybe you want to be the girl with green hair but can’t do it. My bags are for that inner rebel, that fun side waiting to come out. They let you be quirky, colorful, bold — without saying a word.
When I’m not sewing bags, you’ll find me creating bright, happy quilts (which I plan to sell soon!), spending time with my two daughters, or hanging out with my two adorable maltipoos, Ghost and Spirit. I may come off quiet in person, but my bags say what I don’t — loud, proud, and full of joy.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something that speaks to the beautifully unique human you are.
