Meet The Maker

Hi, I'm Anthea — and I make every single thing in this shop
by hand.

My story starts where a lot of good things do — at home,
during COVID, with too much time and not enough to fill it. I had just finished
school and found myself looking for something creative to pour myself into. I
remembered the crocheted blanket my mom made me — one I still have to this day
— and I thought, I want to make something like that. Something with love in
every stitch.

So I made a quilt for my daughters. And I was completely
hooked.

For a few years quilting was my happy place. I got better,
got bolder, and got a lot more confident. Then one day frustration got the
better of me. I could not find a bag I actually loved — something fun,
colorful, with real pockets that worked. So I made one myself.

My friends were amazed. One of them was setting up at a
craft fair and asked if I could make some bags to sell alongside her. I said
yes, showed up, and walked away with something I didn't expect — a room full of
strangers telling me my bags made them happy.

That was the beginning of Emerald Stitch Quilting.

I run this business part-time out of my home studio in New
England. Every bag is cut, quilted, and finished by my hands — no factories, no
shortcuts. I keep my fabric runs small — just three or four bags per print —
because I want every piece to feel special. Like it was made for exactly one
person.

For me, every bag is a little chance to express my wild side
— bold fabrics, unexpected prints, colors that make you smile. Not over the
top, just enough to say this is me.
