There is nothing quite like driving home from a show with that warm, buzzy feeling of a really good day. That’s exactly what happened at the NE Spring Craft Festival at Mohegan Sun in CT — and I’m still riding the high.

The crowds were incredible and the booth stayed busy all day. I got to talk to so many wonderful people about the bags, the fabrics, and what they’re looking for in their next handmade accessory. That face-to-face feedback is priceless for a one-woman shop — I came home with a clear picture of what my customers want more of, and the sales to back it up.

The Flow Bags Did Not Last Long

If there’s one thing I’m taking away from this show, it’s simple: make more Flow bags. A lot more.

They were the very first thing to sell out. Not the last — the first. Mesage received loud and clear.

None of it would have felt the same without my friend Carlos, who came to help man the booth. Having someone there who genuinely cares — who can chat with a customer while I’m wrapping up a sale on the other end of the table — means more than I can say. Carlos, if you’re reading this: thank you.

Squirrel Brain Has Entered the Chat

Okay, honesty time — because that’s what this blog is for.

I currently have about 12 unfinished bags and pouches sitting in various stages of completion in my studio. The thing is, I cut them out with the best intentions, and then a new fabric catches my eye and I have to start something with it right now, while the other projects wait patiently. My attention span has the energy of a squirrel who just spotted a bird feeder.

I say this with full love for the process. But the plan for the coming weeks is clear: finish what’s started, make plenty of Flow bags, and get restocked before the next show. The next few months are going to be wonderfully busy.

What’s Coming This Summer

The show I’m most excited about is Foodees Fest in Auburn, MA in July. It’s shaping up to be extra special — my friend Molly is flying out to visit and she’s going to help me at the booth. A chance to catch up with a good friend while doing something I love? That’s a perfect day.

Between now and July, it’s heads-down studio time. More handmade quilted bags and accessories, a restocked lineup, and enough Flow bags so history doesn’t repeat itself. And maybe — maybe — I’ll finish those 12 unfinished projects before any new fabric tempts me.
