There is something about autumn that makes you want to wrap yourself in it, and that is exactly what I was thinking when I made this quilt. I wanted every color of the season in one piece, and these batik fabrics delivered.

Deep purple flows alongside fiery orange and golden yellow, with earthy green grounding the whole design in bands of seasonal warmth. The batik fabric carries imagery right out of a fall afternoon: pumpkins, scattered leaves, stalks of wheat, and sunflowers in full bloom. I finished the surface with black pumpkin quilting stitches that add texture and depth without competing with the bold fabric, and a coordinating border frames the whole composition so your eye knows exactly where to rest.

Every seam was checked as I went, and each one was inspected again before I called it finished. I made this quilt in my home studio in New England over two to five days, cutting and pressing and quilting with the same care I put into every piece that leaves my hands. When you spread this on a bed or drape it over a chair, you are not looking at something made in a factory. You are looking at something made by one person, on purpose, for you.

  • Size: 61" x 71"
  • 100% cotton batting
  • Batik cotton fabrics in autumn tones: deep purple, fiery orange, golden yellow, earthy green
  • Seasonal motifs: pumpkins, leaves, wheat, sunflowers
  • Black pumpkin quilting stitches
  • One of a kind — only one was made
  • Handmade by Anthea in New England

This quilt is a piece of fall you can hold onto all year. Live in Color. Be You!
